Parrot used Amazon Alexa to order items while his owner was away

Rocco with owner Marion Wishnewski

After some time at NAWT, Rocco began to calm down and eventually won over Wischnewski, who decide to adopt him.

Wischnewski told The Sun she has to check her Amazon shopping list and cancel items the bird has ordered.

Rocco, an African grey, was caught using the virtual assistant to play his favorite music, tell jokes and even order snacks, The Times of London reports.

Before his accidental online shopping habit, Rocco the African Gray parrot was put up for adoption by the National Animal WelfaTrust sanctuary because it feared his swearing would scare visitors, the Daily Mail reported on December 14.

A sneaky parrot nearly ran up a hefty Amazon bill after it began placing orders through its owner's Alexa device.

Marion Wischenewski says her bird Rocco gets into mischief with her Amazon Alexa. She also said that he has romantic music playing for her when she reaches home. He was re-homed from the National Animal Welfare Trust sanctuary in Berkshire because staff thought his bad language might upset visitors.

He has also ordered a kite, light bulbs and even a kettle.

Talking to Daily Mail, Wischnewski mentioned that the African Grey is well known for mimicking speech. His Alexa-powered shopping list includes broccolis, ice creams, watermelons and raisins.
