Ramos gets two-match ban from UEFA for deliberate yellow card

Sergio Ramos has been banned for Real Madrid's next two matches in Europe

The yellow card was Ramos' third in this season's Champions League, meaning he would have served a one-game suspension in the second leg and be free to play in the quarter-final, which would likely be a tougher test.

On the other hand, there's the Champions League - the competition that has come to define Madrid - as they will want to prioritise the second leg of their last 16 tie against Ajax, with the hope being that Los Blancos can win the trophy for the fourth year in a row.

The center back has been found guilty by CEDB for planning to avail himself for important games, the quarter finals by earning the Ajax booking to prevent future suspension.

Ramos was shown a yellow card for a foul on Ajax striker Kasper Dolberg shortly after Marco Asensio had given Real Madrid an 87th-minute 2-1 lead.

Following an investigation opened by Uefa Ramos was handed an additional one match for obtaining the booking on goal.

Trudeau says ethics watchdog to decide truth in SNC-Lavalin affair
In an unusual move, Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland appeared on the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.to say she fully backed Trudeau. In a meeting with Trudeau, the prime minister raised the issue and asked her to " help out " with the case , she said.

UEFA's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body found the defender guilty of receiving a booking on goal during the closing stages of the match in Amsterdam on February 13.

"I want to make it clear that it hurts more than anyone, I have not forced the card, as I did not against Roma in my previous Champions League match", the defender wrote on Twitter.

Despite those comments UEFA opened an investigation into the incident the following day and have now made a decision to take disciplinary action.

Knowing Ramos, Madrid will probably lose the first leg before pulling off a spectacular comeback in the second, with captain shithouse himself scoring the victor.
